Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully neutralized Halilu Buzu, a notorious terrorist kingpin on the security forces’ wanted list, along with several of his fighters in Mayanchi village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The Nigerian Army announced the operation in a statement shared on its official X handle on Friday. According to the statement, Buzu and his fighters met their end on Thursday, September 12, 2024, during a confrontation with the troops. The troops had strategically laid an ambush at one of the terrorist leader’s known crossing points in Mayanchi. Despite fierce resistance from the terrorists, they ultimately succumbed to the superior firepower of the soldiers. The statement further noted that the troops destroyed the terrorists’ camp and are currently conducting further operations in the area to ensure continued security.
