Police arrests sex workers in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Elements of the Republican Police of the 12th district of Cotonou arrested four sex workers on the night of September 1 to 2, 2024. These arrests mark a new stage in an operation underway for a week. This initiative by the police has already led to the arrest of around twenty women. It aims to reduce the phenomenon of soliciting in the main arteries of the district, particularly in the Togbin area, towards the Autonomous Port of Cotonou.According to BIP Radio, some of them were taken to the vice squad. Police interventions will continue, suggesting new arrests in the days to come.
